P.N. Elrod is best known for her ongoing urban fantasy series, The Vampire Files, featuring undead PI Jack Fleming.

Her books have been published by Ace, Baen, St. Martin's and others and translated into German, French, Spanish, Italian, Polish Japanese, and even Romanian.

She's made forays into mystery, historical fantasy, romantic suspense, comedy, non-fiction, and is an award-winning editor.

Help Elrod take care of her fur baby!

Recently, Pat came home to find her beloved Fuzzy--her late sister's old dog--staggering around in some kind of strange seizure. She seemed blind and held her head sideways, unresponsive to her name and very distressed.  Pat got her to help, fearing the worst.

The diagnosis was canine vestibular disorder, which is treatable, but in the end the vet bill soared into four figures. If you've been following the story on Pat's Facebook page you'll know this is a major budget-buster for her.  Contrary to popular belief, most writers don't make much and must have day jobs to support their writing habit.

To pay the bill down in case another emergency happens, Pat is making some really COOL items that fans might enjoy having.

Fuzzy is home and safe, and though pretty blind from cataracts, gets around well in familiar surroundings. She's a sweet girl, always cheerful and loves a good belly rub. (There's no such thing as a bad belly rub, after all!) Along with her adopted siblings Sasha and Megan, she keeps Pat company by sleeping under her work table through the day.
